About this website
ASMR-Studies.org is a website about research projects on the ASMR phenomenon. Our goal is to expand knowledge about ASMR through scientific studies. We plan on publishing results and findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
The website and our projects are closely affiliated with the Department of Psychological Diagnostics at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen in Germany.
About ASMR
Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a subjective sensory-emotional phenomenon characterised by a tingling sensation, often beginning at the scalp and radiating along the neck or spine, typically accompanied by feelings of relaxation and calm.
This experience is elicited by specific stimuli, which are commonly auditory or visual in nature. Examples of such stimuli include whispering, certain sounds, or attentive, repetitive actions.
Despite the growing interest in ASMR and the increasing number of scientific studies on the subject, the phenomenon remains only very partially understood. The occurrence of the phenomenon is not universal, and individual susceptibility varies.

Participate in studies
Our research is only possible because volunteers choose to participate in our studies. We are deeply grateful for the time and effort our participants devote to supporting our research. If you’d like to participate in a study on the ASMR phenomenon, please take a look here — we look forward to hearing from you.
